When one out of four books sold is a mystery, then you know that there’s a wide appeal for the amateur sleuth out there to investigate your collection. The question then becomes how.

We believe that we are offering a unique was to making history, art, and culture feel alive again. As a small museum, you already know how to create exhibits that educate and captivate. We extend that to where your current and future audience is. We tell your stories that reach your audience at home.

Your museum audience will experience a delightful tale what will lead them to investigate your exhibits in a way that brings a personal touch to the hidden stories your organization already has.

The Joy of Opening The Letter

What We Create

Armchair Expeditions creates 8 part classic historical fiction mystery stories based on real places and real people. We work with you to create a story arc that helps define an event and series that meets your goals for either finding new audiences or increasing engagement with the audience you have.

But interactive doesn’t mean screens and games. We are not creating stories for everyone. Our ideal museum partner wants to engage people who are interested in understanding a place through discovery rather than consuming. These are literary adventures, ones that encourage exploration of your exhibits, but also reach those who want to feel that nostalgic excitement of receiving something personal in the mail.

Our stories are engaging in a way that removes the work for you

While we work with you on the research, we craft the storyline and select the artifacts that can be produced to make the mystery work. No more decision fatigue on developing everything on your own. We also integrate the product within your logistics framework. How to send invites, how to present to the board, all of these steps are made to keep the focus on your orgnaizations mission and capabilities.

Yet we still presere the magic. The sotry is unique, fun, and fufills our goal to enage people in local hsitory and nostalgia for old-fashioned amilings. Because your audience is already seeking that special feeling.

How You Can Integrate

We package our stories in a way that makes it entirely giftable. You can sell them in your gift store. It becomes a day that you can wrap. It makes people feel like an insider. Or you can stage an event, where the initial mystery is unwrapped, with added layers, clues and solutions sent by mail to keep that connection to your museum.

Giftable Means Recurring Revenue For Your Organization

Beyond having an event where the story is introduced at your museum, you can offer the season in your gift shop as a physical product, or offer it for sale as a fundraising product. Each sale generates revenue back to your organization.

We believe some stories are better held than scrolled.
