Armchair Expeditions is a boutique publisher of direct to reader collectible editions. Founded in 2016 as a brand under US Daily Digital Design LLC, the company specializes in publishing original fiction based on real places with historic significance.

Stories told one letter at a time.

Some of the greatest novels of all time began their life as serialized stories in newspapers and magazines. It’s 2026 and the life of magazines and newspapers seems to be in a precarious state. You could even say that about the entire media and entertainment landscape.

But as historians know, everything old can be new again. Introducing Armchair Expeditions, we are taking the best ideas of old, surreal stories, and using the tools we have of today to share unique stories that follow a classical vibe and deliver affordable and memorable entertainment.

We are launching this year with season one, an eight mailing in 90 days adventure worthy of following in the footsteps of Jules Verns, 80 days around the world, or Charles Dickens serial adventures. Or was that Mark Twain F Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and countless others who created the most memorable characters that we still cherish today

We don’t believe in turning everything into an endless subscription, that’s why we offer each story as a season you commit to the story and that’s it. We will offer you away to buy the next one at a discount of course. Like we said, we have those modern tools to take advantage of.

The golden age of magazines was all about mass production while we think that the tools of the trade can make it possible for us to deliver stories cost-effectively, we also believe we can create stories that are personalized and immersive.

If you longed for touching holding the diary from Indiana Jones, folding the letters from Jane Austin, breaking the wax seal of a secret letter, or smelling descent of a bygone era then Armchair Expeditions is for you.

In the 1930s president Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the works progress administration. During the great depression, he put a plan in place to create work for the writers, illustrators, painters, and other artists at a time when their ability to earn income was extremely challenging while we may not be in an economic depression, it certainly feels like we are in an artistic one.

That’s why we created Armchair Expeditions. To create a new way for a new audience to experience the joy of reading over time and with a nod to the history of the printing press instead of the endless digital scroll.

The first series of Classic Mysteries by Mail, offers readers the opportunity to enjoy stories told in eight mailings over 90 days. Each letter includes ephemeral artifacts that evoke the time period when the action takes place.

In 2027 Armchair Expeditions will be producing limited editions of classic paperbacks with original illustrations that evoke the golden age of publishing, roughly between 1920 and 1950. Our team focuses on recreating the time period of each books setting, when it was first published.

Since the days of illuminated manuscripts, artisans have created beautiful books that have withstood time. Armchair Expeditions aims to deliver editions worthy of collection. There are publishers that only care about what they sell. Armchair Expeditions cares about what you treasure and keep.

Some stories are better held than scrolled.
